Comments

Commenting on our www.outagesio.com site is typically disabled.
Our support forums allow members to interact with OutagesIO to ask questions or get support. Being a forum, comments are public.

In the rare event that commenting is enabled, when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If enabled and it you uploaded images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

This site does not share data with any third party companies or services. In fact, we rarely use third party API’s as much as possible, especially those that require us to share data unless that data is not of a personal nature or what we see as profiling.

If you download the image of your reports from app.outagesio.com for example and share it on another site, you are then subject only to that services privacy policies. For example, if you share something on Facebook or Twitter, you are subject to their policies.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on any of our web sites, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

Any personal data is considered to be yours but since we don’t collect personal data, the only information we would have is what ever you shared when you signed up or posted in our forums etc. What ever we can remove, we will be happy to do so within reason. Meaning, if you signed up using Facebook for example, we have no way of removing what ever data they collected about the sign up.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service that is commonly used with web sites. Some comments could be used as testimonials but we generally contact the person before using their content.

Your contact information

This site is used primarily as a marketing site. The only time an account is needed is if someone would like to order one of our hardware agents or hardware agent with service bundles. In this case, an account must be created in order to order through paypal. Information such as the email address is used to contact you to let you know that your order is being prepared, has been shipped or if we need further information to process the order.

Request data deletion

Your personal data can be removed from our application sites, forums and other sites that we own and control. Public posts however may remain as they would be intertwined with other members comments.

The only personal data that we might have are your account details that you shared wihle using the service/s.
If you have used our cart to order and will no longer be using the service, you may request that we delete your order history from our cart.
However, please be aware that Paypal will retain their copy of the same information which we have no control over.
